Lookout 07 is a youth drop-in centre on the Sunshine Coast designed for young people aged 12 to 25. It provides a safe, inclusive, and fully supervised environment free of charge. Operating Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the centre focuses on fostering physical, social, and emotional well-being. Facilities include a fully equipped gym, boxing ring, half basketball court, gaming areas, and chill-out zones.
The centre was established under the Stensholm Foundation in 2023 by mental health advocate Leon Stensholm, following the tragic loss of his friend and brother, Dean. His vision was to create a supportive space where youth could access early intervention, mentorship, and a sense of belonging. Lookout 07 has already been recognised locally, receiving early-intervention funding to help at-risk adolescents pursue education and employment pathways.
Founded by Bruce and Denise Morcombe after the 2003 abduction and tragic death of their 13-year-old son Daniel, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation is committed to child safety education and preventing abuse. A key initiative is the annual Day for Daniel, Australia’s largest child safety awareness day, which is observed by millions of people and supported by schools and workplaces nationwide.
The foundation delivers a wide range of educational programs and tools for children and young people, focusing on both physical and online safety. It also continues to push for stronger systemic protections, including the introduction of “Daniel’s Law,” a public register of convicted sex offenders, and advocating for raising the minimum age of social media access to better safeguard children.
